Attention to environmental practices in the lodging business is an ongoing proposition, and there will always be new challenges with new steps to take. As an independent, small business we try to do the best we can with our limited resources, and we will continue the journey with diligence and enthusiasm. In 2008, the Country Inn became the first hotel lodging in Rockport to install solar panels and is one of only a hand-full of properties in the Camden-Rockport area to receive Maine’s Environmental Leader Certification as a Lodging Business.

We remain committed to continually seeking ways to be minimize waste while taking care of guests in comfortable setting.

Over the past few years we have implemented many sustainable business operations, and are proud of the newest green achievement – adoption of solar power. The twenty-four panel system will provide approximately sixty percent of the hot water used at the property by guests annually and help offset the inn’s energy use.

We continue to maintain a 3 Eco-leaf rating with i stay green and reamain fully committed to seeking ways to be kinder to the environment. In 2010, we were honored to be a Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce’s environmental award winner for our green practices.

At Country Inn at Camden/Rockport, we reduce and recycle waste, conserve energy and water, and educate our guests and employees on environmental stewardship. We help promote other green business and will extend a 10% discount for our guest rooms for Better World Club members who show a card at check-in.
